Bookish Events

Bookish events hosted by The Smut Oracle are designed as shared experiences rather than formal readings or lectures. These gatherings center on conversation, connection, and the collective joy of talking about books that inspire strong feelings and even stronger opinions.

Events may include live discussions, guided conversations, themed gatherings, panels, and immersive bookish experiences rooted in romance and fantasy. Whether intimate or communal, each event is curated with intention, curiosity, and respect for the audience.

The emphasis is always on engagement.
Reading together.
Thinking together.
Talking about the stories that stay with us.

What These Events Look Like:

Bookish events may take place in a variety of settings and formats, including:

  • independent bookstores and literary spaces

  • libraries and community venues

  • festivals, panels, and pop-up gatherings

  • private or hosted book club experiences

Some events are conversational and discussion-based. Others are more immersive, thematic, or performance-adjacent. The format adapts to the space, the audience, and the story being explored.

Past and Upcoming Events:

Bridgerton-Inspired Regency Ball
Waynesville, North Carolina
First Weekend of April 2026

This spring, The Smut Oracle will co-host a fully immersive, Regency-inspired ball inspired by the world of Bridgerton.

Designed as an evening of atmosphere and participation, the event invites guests to step into a period setting shaped by romance, spectacle, and shared imagination. Expect an experience that blends costuming, music, curated moments, and communal delight rather than passive observation.

This is not a reenactment. It is an interpretation where YOU get to shine like the Diamond of the Season.

Details regarding tickets, attire guidance, and programming will be shared closer to the event.

Location: Waynesville
Dates: First weekend of April
